Gauss
Bridging Course to Maths Olympiad for Y 6 - 7
2 hours per week during school term
Gauss is a bridging course for Year 6-7 students entering Mathematics Olympiad or advanced mathematics pathways. The program aims to consolidate students’ mathematical foundations while introducing more advanced algebraic thinking and problem-solving skills.
The course covers key topics in numbers, algebra, geometry, and logical reasoning, helping students transition from standard school mathematics to higher-level mathematical thinking. Students are encouraged to develop confidence in analysing unfamiliar problems and exploring creative solutions independently.
After completing the Gauss course, students may choose to continue into either the Mathematics Olympiad stream, focusing on competition-style problem solving, or the Excellence Mathematics stream, which emphasises advanced school mathematics and accelerated learning.
