Quantum Education

Australian Tutoring Association

Quantum Education(QE) is a member of the Australian Tutoring Association. It was founded in Melbourne in 2017 by dedicated educator, David Chu, a former team member of the Chinese International Math Olympiad.

Creative and Inspirational Lessons

At QE, we strive to provide creative and inspirational lessons across a variety of subjects, including maths, English, EAL and science for primary and secondary students. 

Exceptional Competitions Results

QE has been recognised for its expertise in mathematics training at advanced levels. Our students have achieved exceptional results in major mathematical competitions such as Australian Math Competition (AMC) and Maths Olympiads. 

American Maths Competition Test Centre

In 2019, QE was bestowed the singular honour of being endorsed by the American Math Association as Australia’s exclusive test centre for the American Math Competition.

At QE, we are highly receptive to new modes of education within our conventional classrooms in response to different learning styles of students. We are well ready for new challenges.

David CHU | Principal

David Chu graduated from Tsinghua University and was a former member in national camp of Chinese Mathematical Olympiad. Before commencing Quantum Education in Australia, he trained mathematically gifted youths in Beijing. David believes that every child has his or her own strengths and that the primary responsibility of the teacher is to discover and stimulate the potential of the student. Based on this philosophy, David always insists QE classes should be kept small with high student interactivity. He believes this allows teachers to deeply understand the characteristics of each student and teach accordingly to help them grow.

Dr. P Monajemi | Head of Math

With a PhD in Civil Engineering and Mathematics from Shiraz University (Iran),  Parjang has extensive knowledge and passion for maths, especially concepts included in VCE Specialist Maths. With more than 15 years of teaching experience and several awards from universities for his teaching abilities, Parjang has always been passionate about creating an atmosphere in which the students feel they can evolve. Parjang not only tutors but coaches his students in their study strategies and habits to achieve top results for school and life. He applies maths to real life situations and provides a comprehensive way for his students to understand each concept. His experiences and achievement at the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) also attributes to his advanced understanding of Math. His diligence, determination, commitment, and patience will contribute significantly to the progress of all students.  

Paul LIN | Head of English

Paul graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (Guangzhou, China) majoring in the English Language before obtaining his postgraduate degree of media and journalism at Monash University, Melbourne. Paul worked as an editor of international news for various media including television and newspapers in China. Paul has insightful ideas, is knowledgeable plus enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with children. Ten years ago, Paul started schooling his own child when he found education amazing and determined to make teaching his life career. Paul is specialised in EAL teaching and so understands how students from non-English environments can effectively adapt to the Australian way of learning.

Yolanda SUN | Head of Chinese

After graduating from renowned Heading University (Shanghai, China), Yolanda was invited by her college to teach Chinese to international students, with Teacher’s Qualification Certificate in Higher Education, IMCPI Senior Instructor Certificate and International Chinese Language Teacher Certificate. 

Since moving to Melbourne in 2011, she has devoted herself to teaching Chinese as a second language to local students of Chinese background. She also served as the head of teaching  in a famous local Chinese school and established Chinese second language learning groups in some local elementary schools.  

With eighteen years of rich experience in teaching and researching, innovative teaching philosophy, strong sense of responsibility for each student and a relatable and interesting teaching style, she is a valued mentor for local students learning Chinese as a second language.

Arthur S

In his final year at Scotch College, Arthur has been an active participant in the Computer Science Training Programme for the past 4 years.  In addition to an IOI silver medal, he has achieved gold and perfect scores in both the AIO and AIIO for the past 3 years. With an in-depth knowledge of the training programme and years of experience in C++, he is passionate about helping students who aspire to the AIO and beyond.

Aubrey T

Beginning her journey into the Bachelor of Design at the University of Melbourne, Aubrey infuses her classes with energy and creativity. Having completed seven VCE subjects, she is well equipped with an understanding of the curriculum, assisting students through not only the academic aspects of VCE, but also fostering sustainable study habits and mindsets. Aubrey brings not only her experience, but also her enthusiasm and adaptability to guide and encourage students through their journeys. She leads students meticulously through each class with compassion and optimism for each students evolving abilities and understanding of society through text and film.

​Charlotte H

Charlotte graduated with a 46 study score in English Literature. Her patience and kindness pave the way for students of all levels to fully engage with her lessons and achieve their best personal results. Her optimism in each student's ability allows them to feel comfortable communicating with her, creating a classroom conducive to effective learning. She dedicates time to her students and is willing to think incessantly about new and more engaging ways to help students achieve their best.

Enda H

Having achieved a perfect ATAR, Enda is now studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. In addition to his curricular success he is also experienced with the competition side of academics. Through high school, he participated in numerous Olympiads such as the AMO, AMOC Senior Contest, and AIO – later invited to several Olympiad Training camps due to his success. Enda believes that students learn best when they’re interested and thus brings an enthusiasm to the classroom that pushes students to engage and make the most out of their learning opportunities.

Eleison Z

Majored in teaching Chinese as a foreign language during her university study, Eleison has been teaching Chinese in China, Hong Kong and Australia for more than 20 years. In Hong Kong, she has taught Chinese in many well-known international schools, and most of her students are non-native Chinese speakers. 
After moved to Australia recently, Eleison has been actively involved in teaching Chinese language courses to local students. Eleison looks forward to teaching Chinese as a second language and promoting Chinese culture, and promoting Chinese culture and inter-cultural development.

Gloria M

with a 99+ ATAR score and 50+ in all Maths subjects, Gloria is currently undertaking her Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne. She understands the challenges that her students are facing and provides adequite guidance and support. Gloria is always passionate in motivating students to embrace learning and developing good study habits.

Henry H

With an ATAR score of 99+, Henry is currently on a postgraduate pathway to study medicine at the University of Melbourne. He works with students of all ability levels and is passionate about helping students build confidence and motivation through guidance. Henry maximises time efficiency in the classroom and provides clear and comprehensive instructions to all his students with great patience. As a maths tutor, Henry is methodical and composed when solving problems, which makes him a perfect role model for students. His dedication and reliability are also highly valued.

Jordan C

Jordan graduated with an ATAR of 99.95, achieving perfect study scores in all three of his maths subjects, as well as in Latin. Now studying a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, he hopes to help others achieve their own aspirations, by building strong foundations, and perhaps more importantly, by developing a genuine interest in whatever they choose to tackle. He has wide-ranging academic interests, from linguistics to chemistry and mathematics, but as a teacher specialising in Specialist Maths, he wishes to inspire students to treat the subject not as a daunting challenge, but as a stimulating extension to their mathematical studies.

Karyn L

Working at Healthcare Australia, Karyn graduated from University of Melbourne as Doctor of Physiotherapy. Languages, including Latin, have never been anything too hard for Karyn. She loves English literature, especially Shakespeare, and she has closely studied a number of classics which were/are on the VCE booklist. She makes unique and valuable insights out of social issues. Most importantly, Karyn enjoys teaching. She is keen to pour her wisdom selflessly to whoever walks into her classroom. With more than 8 years of experience in teaching VCE English subjects, Karyn is extraordinarily good at guiding students to write high-quality essays armed with solid ideas. 

Ruicheng W

Graduating Scotch College in 2023 with an ATAR of 99.85, Ruicheng is currently pursuing a Commerce/Law post-graduate package at the University of Melbourne, whilst also being a recipient of the University of Melbourne Commerce Achievement scholarship. Scoring a raw 50 in English, and raw 49 in Literature, Ruicheng possesses a great wealth of experience and knowledge in the English subject, which he hopes to share with students. Intermingling this expertise is his pragmatic understanding of VCE English — something that he believes is capable of maximising student performance in exam conditions. In his spare time, Ruicheng enjoys playing chess and reading extensively — a hobby that has further enriched and developed his love for the English subject.

Ryan O

Now studying the Bachelor of Science at Melbourne University, Ryan, who achieved an ATAR of 99.85 is a keen educator and loves to ensure all students are excelling at their full capabilities. Teaching maths at QE, Ryan believes that students who feel like they are all individually catered to and nurtured yield the best results and overall satisfaction with their studies. Ryan enjoys the challenge of discovering each child's different needs and how best to approach teaching them and loves seeing children achieve their best. He utilises his recent VCE success and experience in order to provide crucial lessons to his students and ensure that they are adequately prepared for their journeys ahead.

Sai P

Sai attended the University of Melbourne and completed a Bachelor of Science with a major in Mathematical Physics. Sai is currently in his penultimate semester of his Master of Science (Physics) at Monash University.
Since graduating from high school, Sai has been actively involved in tutoring VCE level mathematics, with a particular focus on Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics, as well as Physics. With six years of tutoring experience, Sai has worked with students from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels, and his intention is to cultivate an inclusive learning environment for his students and provide a comprehensive insight into the subjects he teaches.

Sarah Z

Sarah is currently studying a Law/Arts double degree at Monash University. She completed 8 VCE subjects through the accelerated learning program at Balwyn High School, including both English and English Language, which gives her a broad repertoire of the English curriculum. She participated in the National History Challenge and has 6 years of debating experience with the Debaters Association of Victoria. Sarah has a passion for English and the humanities, and firmly believes that fostering interest and enthusiasm in a subject is the best way to help students improve in their studies.

Scott Z

With an 45+ in all maths subjects, Scott will start studying for his Bachelor of Medicine degree at the University of Melbourne. He brings an optimistic attitude to every lesson and his enthusiasm spreads to his students, making his lessons a very engaging experience. He also has a very approachable personality and teaches in a fun way, ensuring that all students achieve the best possible results. His excellent communication skills and extra attention to detail enable him to teach students of all academic levels. Scott puts a great deal of effort into engaging the students and helping them to improve.

Shirley T

Shirley graduated from Mac. Robertson Girls' High School and is currently studying Engineering at Monash University. She excels at teaching in an interactive way, which is essential for students.  Shirley is exceptional at holding the attention of her students and bringing course topics to life, ensuring that her students understand the course concepts and ideas. This method maximises the efficiency and effectiveness of a group class. As a tutor, her patience and optimistic personality always bring positive energy to the classroom. Shirley strives to encourage her students to gain passion and confidence in their own academic endeavours in order to achieve their desired academic goals.

​Tommy C

Tommy is currently in Year 11 at Scotch College. He has participated in the AMT Informatics Olympiad Training Programme for the past 3 years and has won 2 gold medals in the AIO and a bronze medal in the AIIO. His coding journey started when he was about 9 years old with Scratch. Since then he has developed a deep understanding of Python and C++, two of the most popular languages for competitive programming. As well as coding, he is also well versed in maths olympiads, having achieved a High Distinction in AIMO and an Honourable Mention in AMO. Tommy is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential in coding and ensuring they understand the logic behind different concepts and questions.

Wendy B

Coming from a family that are all teachers, Wendy firmly believes that teaching runs in her blood.  With over 20 years of experience in teaching English and a wide variety of skills in writing, editing and literature, Wendy enjoys encouraging good English skills in students of all ages and levels of competence. Wendy is also a professional writer herself with works published. Her writer's insights will surely benefit our students. She is also an important contributor to curriculum of English writing at Quantum Education.
